Des Moines Performing Arts seeks an experienced Accountant to assist the Finance Manager in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.  The Accountant will assist with audit and budget preparation, maintaining and tracking financials plus assist with financial statements including journal entries and reconciliations.

 Qualified candidates should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years’ related experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of financial systems and office procedures
  • Experience working with financial statements, audit preparation, and budgets
  • Experience working in non-profit organizations preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detailed oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong business ethics
  • Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
  • A knowledge of and interest in live performing arts
