Des Moines Performing Arts is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader to play a leading role as Director of Development.  The Director of Development will serve as a key member of the Des Moines Performing Arts leadership team.  The Director of Development is responsible for all fund raising and development activities and events, and for forging new relationships to build the organizations philanthropic support.  The ideal candidate for this position will have a natural passion for the performing arts and the strategic vision to advance the support of Des Moines Performing Arts in the community. 

 Qualified candidates should have:

  •  Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong leadership skills including experience managing a team

  • Outstanding planning and organization skills

  • Outstanding strategic agility and planning ability

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to cultivate effective relationships

  • Able to develop and foster a team environment

  • Strong initiative and decision making ability

ACCOUNTING INTERNSHIP JOB POSTING
Winter/Spring 2016

Des Moines Performing Arts is offering a fun and educational opportunity to college students interested in taking skills learned in school and applying them to a professional setting within a non-profit performing arts organization.

We are seeking current college accounting students for our Winter/Spring accounting internship program. The intern will receive a full overview of the finance department. Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: assisting with year-end audit preparation, assisting with month end financial statement preparation, posting general ledger transactions, bank and general ledger reconciliations, payroll processing, sales tax reporting, accounts payable/receivable and daily sales reporting. This internship requires strong PC skills, including MS Excel and Word.

This paid internship will begin February 2016. Applicants must be available a minimum of 20 to 25 hours per week. This position is temporary.
