Are you passionate about the arts? Do you wish you could be an advocate while earning some extra money? Des Moines Performing Arts has an opportunity that may be right for you!

We are looking for outgoing individuals to be a part of our outbound call team. The call team regularly places courtesy and sales calls to existing guests and donors. Calling campaigns are focused mainly on series subscription and donation renewals and is also the driving force behind the one or more sales campaigns each year for new series subscriptions and donations. Leads for all campaigns are pulled from existing or past ticketholders and donors.

 Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Comfortable sitting for 3+ hours at a computer.
  • Confident and comfortable with outbound and inbound phone calls.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Previous experience in a sales or retail environment.
  • Detail oriented.

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Prior call center or sales experience.
  • Prior ticket office experience.
  • Background or interest in performing arts.

Compensation starts at $10.25 per hour with opportunities for commission and bonuses during select calling campaigns.

Summer 2015

Des Moines Performing Arts has an exciting opportunity for students interested in marketing world-class arts, entertainment, education and cultural activities.

We are seeking current college students anticipating a graduation date later than December 2015 for our summer marketing internship program. Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, event advertising, promotional duties and assisting with 2015-2016 season marketing activities including the popular Willis Broadway Series at the Des Moines Civic Center. This position is ideal for students majoring in marketing, communications or advertising. Skills in copywriting, graphic design, video production, digital advertising and social media are preferred.  

This paid internship will begin May 2015. Applicants must be available a minimum of 15-20 hours per week. This position is temporary and will end August 2015.

Des Moines Performing Arts is offering a fun and educational opportunity to college students interested in learning about fundraising and development within a non-profit performing arts organization.

We are seeking college applicants for our fall development internship program. Students must be enrolled and active in the fall semester.The Development Intern will receive a full overview of the development function and take the lead on a donor database retention project. The candidate can expect to gain experience in grant writing, designing and implementing a gift acquisition campaign, and assisting with unique donor opportunities.

This paid internship will begin August 2015. Applicants must be available a minimum of 12 - 15 hours per week. This position is temporary and will end December 2015.
