Trey McInytre's dances overflow with fresh intelligence, unabashed physicality and irresistible spirit. His unique dance language blends the grace and tension of classical ballet with unorthodox twists and turns and keen musicality. Trey McIntyre Project recently announced that it will end its full-time dance company to embark on new artistic projects. This engagement will be one of the company's farewell performances.
There will be two pieces performed on May 1st - Mercury Half-Life and The Vinegar Works (brand new).
Mercury Half-Life - Set to the Music of Queen
"Rock concert? More than 1,400 people did the stomp-stomp-clap of Queen’s iconic sports anthem “We Will Rock You” on the Morrison Center floor, while the dance company dazzled on stage. The extended curtain call was a literal scream fest." -The Idaho Statesman
"Trey McIntyre Project's latest show pushes the limits with music by Queen." -Boise State Public Radio
The Vinegar Works: Four Dances of Moral Instruction
This work will be Trey’s final ballet for the full-time dance company and is inspired by the work of illustrator and writer Edward Gorey who was known for his intense fondness for ballet.
Support for The Dance Series has been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.
