Welcome to our ticket office! The ticket office in the Des Moines Civic Center is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and located on the corner of Third and Walnut Streets. It's easy to purchase tickets to events at the Des Moines Civic Center, Temple Theater or Stoner Theater. Whether you're a member, a group leader, an educator or a non-member, however, if you have questions, we are happy to assist you. If they are different than the seats indicated on the renewal invoice you received early in the spring, you likely received an upgrade. You may also call the Civic Center Ticket Office at 515-246-2300 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Possibly. If you asked that we upgrade your seats into a higher price level and we were able to fulfill your request, the card you used to purchase your season tickets was automatically charged the difference. If you are on a payment plan, your total due was adjusted and your payments will change accordingly. If you did not upgrade price levels, there was no charge for your upgrade.
Our staff reviews upgrade requests very closely. Upgrades are reviewed by donation amount to Des Moines Performing Arts and then date/time received. We review the parameters of your request exactly – if seats are available within your criteria when we review your upgrade, your seats are upgraded. If not, your current seats are renewed. We received over 1,000 upgrade requests this year – in order to complete them in a timely fashion, we are not able to call subscribers while reviewing requests.
We are very fortunate to have a large, loyal family of season ticket holders. The majority of our Broadway season ticket holders renew their seats every year which means there are not many seats for us to use for upgrades. We recommend upgrade parameters to be as wide as possible - we might be able to make small changes from year to year.
Broadway Season Ticket Holders also have the ability to upgrade their seats on a show-by-show basis. Simply call or visit the Civic Center Ticket Office to change your seats. You can exchange your tickets as many times as you like – we just encourage guests to complete their ticket exchanges at least 24 hours in advance of the performance. Individual show ticket exchanges can be completed once the show is on sale (many shows will be available in August or September).

Season tickets will be printed in souvenir ticket booklets. You can expect to receive your tickets in the mail by late October.
Children under five years of age are generally not permitted in the theater. At designated shows, however, children of all ages are permitted; however everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket for a specific performance, including all children's productions. Please use your discretion when determining whether or not a performance is suitable for your child.
