Disney's 'Beast' is Beauty (Encore Michigan)

Having recently scored a hit with the stage version of the movie "Shrek," the Fisher Theatre once again turns to an animated film as inspiration for its latest offering. Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" returns to the Fisher stage in a new touring production that's being billed as a visually re-imagined version of the 1994 Broadway hit.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast

The romantic Broadway musical for all generations, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the smash hit Broadway musical, is coming to Des Moines! Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, this eye-popping spectacle has won the hearts of over 35 million people worldwide. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers including "Be Our Guest" and the beloved title song. Experience the romance and enchantment of Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at the Des Moines Performing Arts Center! Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
