Dixie’s Best Moments in Des Moines

Dixie's Never Wear a Tube Top While Riding a Mechanical Bull

She is hilarious, showstopping, and iconic. She is the moment. You know and love her, it’s your favorite red head, Dixie Longate and she’s headed back to Des Moines!

Before you see her live in her hit show: Dixie’s Never Wear a Tube Top While Riding a Mechanical Bull, coming to the Temple Theater February 27 – March 17, we thought this would be a good time to reflect on our favorite Dixie moments over the years!

Of course, it is difficult to pick the best Dixie moments when they are truly all the best, but we will try!

Moment 1: That one time when Dixie starred on KCWI and did the Des Moines weather!

I don’t know about you, but I have never seen a more informational weather report!

Moment 2: When Dixie visited the Des Moines Sculpture Park!

Dixie blends in beautifully with the sculpture art (because she is a work of art herself!)

Moment 3: When Jeff Chelesvig and Dixie Longate had a blast during the 2015-2016 season announcement!

Dixie’s humor is simply contagious, and Jeff can’t resist bursting into laughter whenever she’s in town!

Moment 4: When Dixie discovered the Des Moines skywalk!

Dixie is once again, correct. The skywalk is cold, as is Des Moines in the winter. Don’t worry though, when you see Dixie at the Temple Theater, she will fill your heart with warmth, which is basically the same thing as summer.

Moment 5: When Dixie attended Commons off the Clock!

Dixie being Dixie? Yes please, count us in! Dixie always supports the Des Moines community as an honorary Iowan.

Dixie is coming to the Temple Theater in Des Moines February 27 – March 17 as part of the Temple Comedy Series. Tickets start at $20, so get tickets for everyone you know who could use some laughter this winter. Show Dixie some love while she is in Des Moines, and go get your tickets now! If you don’t get tickets, you may have bad dreams about moon pies and mechanical bulls, so why risk it?
