DMPA Presents Pilobolus re:CREATION

Step into a realm where imagination knows no limits. The boundaries of gravity and creativity blur, offering an intimate window into the essence of creativity itself with Pilobolus's re:CREATION Tour. 

Pilobolus is a dynamic collection of dance pieces, daring experiments, and groundbreaking new collaborations, keeping the company at the forefront of innovation, which stand alongside the classics that have altered the landscape of dance and theater, making re:CREATION both timely and timeless. The pieces each tell stories, which live to teach, comfort, and connect one another.  

Pilobolus will present new, groundbreaking pieces as well as share some of their beloved work from the past. Be prepared to fall in love with the company’s creative performances while learning more about yourself and others.

Noctuary

This piece includes an original score by Jad Abumrad, who incorporates sounds of night, a ticking clock, distant thunder, and rain. Each of these elements seep into a woman’s subconscious seeking harmony and synthesis between waking life and an expansive dreamscape.  

Awaken Heart 

In Awaken Heart, four dancers float delicately through an atmosphere of reminiscence and the excitement of young love. This piece takes viewers on a journey, reminding all of the preciousness of relationships and the transience of life.

Pilobolus Masterclass

Join current Pilobolus dancers as they lead students through an improvisational warmup, movement-based problem solving, weight-sharing techniques, and group dance-making.  

Pilobolus Preshow DANCEtalk 

• Date: March 27 
• Time: 6:30 PM 
• Location: Meet in West Balcony Lounge 

All ticketholders are welcome to join a pre-show DANCEtalk one hour prior to curtain. DMPA will host a conversation with Matt Kent, Artistic Director of Pilobolus.  

Pilobolus Post-show Chat

• Time: Right after the show  
• Location: Civic Center stage 

Following the show, stay in the theater a bit longer for a post-show chat with members of the dance company.
