John Mellencamp is coming to the Des Moines Civic Center for one night only. Mark your calendars for April 5, 2024 for a fantastic night filled with great hits!  

John Mellencamp has been in the industry for quite some time, and has produced many amazing songs that you are sure to sing along to.  

Let’s take a look at some of his top songs that we all know and love.  

1. Hurts So Good 

This song came out when Mellencamp went by the Name “John Cougar.” Released in 1982, “Hurts So Good” was one of three major hits on Mellencamp’s album American Fool for obvious reasons.

2. Jack & Diane 

“Jack & Diane” is another top song from Mellencamp’s American Fool album. This song is known as Mellencamp’s most successful hit single!

3. Crumblin’ Down 

This rock song is featured on Mellencamp’s Uh-Huh album, released in 1983. This inspirational song was written by both Mellencamp and writing partner, George Green.

4. Pink Houses 

Also featured on Uh-Huh is “Pink Houses” which was included in Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

5. Lonely Ol’ Night 

“Lonely Ol’ Night” reached number one on the Top Rock Tracks chart and remained there for five weeks!

6. Small Town 

This song is about Mellencamp’s own experience growing up in a small town in Indiana. “Small Town” was released on his eighth album, Scarecrow.

7. R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A. 

This song was a top 10 hit on the Billboard Top 100, rightfully so!

8. Cherry Bomb 

This song which is featured on Mellencamp’s album, The Lonesome Jubilee, takes listeners back to Mellencamp’s teenage years.

9. Paper in Fire

Mellencamp’s uncle inspired “Paper in Fire,” a song that surely invokes some emotion in everyone.

10. Wild Night

Mellencamp recorded “Wild Night” alongside Meshell Ndegeocello which charted in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It’s no wonder Mellencamp is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
