When can I substitute a Broadway show?

If new tickets are higher priced than original tickets, payment for the difference will be applied at the time of substitution. Substitution requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to the first performance of the production you are substituting out of. Show substitutions can be made online, in-person at the Civic Center Ticket Office or by calling (515) 246-2300.

You will be able to start making substitutions during the subscriber access window each year!

Restrictions and Ticket Limits will apply.

If new tickets are higher priced than original tickets, payment for the difference will be applied at the time of substitution. If new tickets are less expensive, the difference will not be refunded to the order. This difference will show as the service fee amount. Substitution is available for select performances and all substitutions are a 1:1 ticket ratio. Substitutions are only permitted to productions within the same season. Additional ticket purchases will need to be done in another order after the substitution. Substitutions must be completed at least 24 hours prior to the start of the engagement run you are substituting out of. Substitutions can be made online, in-person at the Civic Center Ticket Office or by calling (515) 246-2300. Please note: Valet tickets must be substituted separately. Substitution availability may vary by show and be subject to restrictions.
