It’s official—the 2024–25 Iowa High School Musical Theater Award (IHSMTA) recipients have been revealed, and we couldn’t be more proud to celebrate the students, educators, and schools across the state who brought unforgettable performances and productions to life this season.

From classic musicals to bold contemporary titles, over 100 participating schools made this year’s program a true showcase of creativity, collaboration, and community. The IHSMTAs honor excellence in performance, technical achievement, student orchestra, ensemble work, and more—along with spotlighting outstanding student contributions both on stage and behind the scenes.

Whether you're a returning participant or new to the program, this year’s award recipients represent the heart of Iowa’s thriving high school theater community. Congratulations to everyone who participated and helped make this season one to remember!

The Awards Showcase will take place Wednesday, May 29 at the Des Moines Civic Center
