Des Moines Performing Arts-Invested Shows Receive 30 Tony Nominations

The Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing recently announced the 2026 Tony Award nominations, and Des Moines Performing Arts (DMPA) invested in three nominated productions, totaling 30 nods to artistic excellence. The Lost Boys, with an impressive 12 nominations, is up for Best Musical, while Cats: The Jellicle Ball and The Rocky Horror Show both received nine nominations, including each in the category of Best Revival of a Musical.

Des Moines Performing Arts has long invested in Broadway productions through its membership in the Independent Presenters Network (IPN), a consortium of 40 leading Broadway presenters, theaters and performing arts centers. The support is just one way DMPA attracts major Broadway shows early in their tours.

  • Best Choreography, Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant
  • Best Orchestrations, Ethan Popp, Kyler England, Adrianne Gonzalez, and Gabriel Mann

  • Best Revival of a Musical
  • Best Direction of a Musical, Zhailon Levingston and Bill Rauch
  • Best Choreography, Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons
  • Best Featured Actor in a Musical, Andre de Shields

  • Best Lighting Design of a Musical, Adam Honore
