May 30, 2025
Temple Theater

Music has the power to connect us, heal us, and bring us closer together. For The Finesse, it’s all about creating a soundtrack for life’s most meaningful moments. Ahead of their Made in the Midwest performance on February 15th at the Temple Theater, learn more about their journey, their influences, and what this show means to them.

The Inspiration Behind the Music

For The Finesse, music is a deeply personal and emotional experience. “I grew up listening to Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Michael Jackson, with a healthy dash of Queen, Snoop Dogg, and Kanye West,” they share. “There’s something undeniably human about making noise and expressing our feelings in such beautiful ways. I just fell in love with how it made me feel.”

Their latest work is a tribute to that emotional connection. “This chapter of music was inspired by the passing of my grandfather Abraham—in remembrance and celebration—while also capturing that feeling of being with the ones you love to a soulful soundtrack.”

Defining Their Sound

The Finesse’s sound is hard to categorize into a single genre, but at its core, it’s about soul, storytelling, and connection. Their music blends nostalgia with fresh energy, creating something that feels timeless yet modern.

The Influence of the Midwest

Growing up in the Midwest played a key role in shaping The Finesse’s artistry. “I had some incredibly caring and nurturing music teachers,” they recall. “They inspired me to dream big and encouraged me to be myself.”

This supportive environment helped fuel their passion for music and led to a sound that is deeply rooted in emotion and authenticity.

What Made in the Midwest Means to Them

For The Finesse, Made in the Midwest is more than just a performance—it’s a way to celebrate and uplift local artists. “It’s always exciting to launch a new idea that allows us to be creative in fresh ways,” they say. “I believe it’s important to celebrate who we are now as a community but also to grow something for artists yet to come.”

The Power of an Intimate Venue

Performing at Temple Theater allows for a deeper connection with the audience. “Being able to connect with people is my favorite part of playing and entertaining,” they share. “Intimacy always cranks up the electricity and vibe, and we’re all so excited to experience that in Temple Theater.”

What They Hope the Audience Takes Away

More than anything, The Finesse wants their audience to feel loved and worthy of love.
