SUGAR SKULL! A Día de Muertos Musical Adventure will be at the Des Moines Civic Center on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. as part of the Wellmark Blue Cross + Blue Shield Family Series. A spirited candy skeleton springs to life and takes 12-year-old Vita Flores on a magical, musical journey to unravel the true meaning of Día de Muertos. Tickets start at $12.50. DMPA’s Education Team will also have a fun Discovery Party full of crafts, story time, and more starting at 10 a.m.!
Día de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is a Mexican celebration on November 1 and 2 to honor and remember deceased loved ones. Prepare for SUGAR SKULL! with your whole family at these local Day of the Dead events:

Celebrate Halloween and Día de los Metros with storytimes, facepainting, cocoa bombs, sugar skull crafts and a chance to win tickets to SUGAR SKULL!.
