The mission of Des Moines Performing Arts is to engage the Midwest in world-class entertainment, education and cultural activities. The following privacy policy applies to customer data collected by Des Moines Performing Arts described in Section I.
I. Information Collected by Des Moines Performing Arts
Des Moines Performing Arts collects certain nonpublic personal information from its Members, Season Ticket Holders and other members of the general public, including information it receives from them on applications and other forms, as well as information about their transactions with Des Moines Performing Arts, Des Moines Performing Arts’ affiliates, and others.
Des Moines Performing Arts collects this nonpublic personal information from:
- donations
- Membership applications
- ticket purchases by Members and Season Ticketholders via phone, our web site www.desmoinesperformingarts.org, or at the Civic Center Ticket Window
- ticket purchases by non-Members and non-Season Ticketholders made at the Civic Center Ticket Office Window.
- registrations on our web site www.desmoinesperformingarts.org
- other public sources.
II. Use of your Personal Information
Des Moines Performing Arts uses the personal information it collects to process ticket orders and donations, notify you of performance changes and updates, and offer you unique ticket offers or event invitation based on your interests.
Des Moines Performing Arts does not sell, rent or lease its Membership, Season Ticketholder or customer lists to third parties. Des Moines Performing Arts may, from time to time, share data with trusted organizations who are raising money or selling tickets on Des Moines Performing Arts’ behalf. In doing so, Des Moines Performing Arts may disclose the following kinds of information about you:
- information Des Moines Performing Arts receives from you on applications and other forms, such as your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number
- information about your transactions with Des Moines Performing Arts, its affiliates or others
Des Moines Performing Arts has a contractual agreement with these trusted organizations that prohibits them from disclosing this information for other purposes.
In addition, Des Moines Performing Arts may contact you on behalf of partner organizations or external business partners about a particular event or offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. Des Moines Performing Arts does not disclose nonpublic personal information of its former Members, Season Ticketholders or other customers.
III. Protection of Your Financial Information
Des Moines Performing Arts will protect any personal financial information you share with us. Your credit card number will only be used for processing ticket orders and donations. Your order information will be stored on our secure servers; this information is not shared with third parties. We restrict access to customer financial information for use by authorized Des Moines Performing Arts employees only. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
IV. Website and Email Newsletters
To maintain contact with Des Moines Performing Arts donors, customers and other interested parties, the Des Moines Performing Arts manages a web site, www.desmoinesperformingarts.org. In general, when you visit our web site and access information, you remain anonymous. Des Moines Performing Arts does not require you to register or provide personal information in order to view our site.
Des Moines Performing Arts tracks web usage and non-personally identifiable information (that is, information that cannot be traced to a single, personally identifiable individual) to evaluate how well our Web pages are serving visitor needs.
There are occasions when we will ask for additional information from you. We do this to better understand and respond to your needs, and to provide you with services that may be valuable to you. For example, personally identifiable information will be collected when you make a donation, purchase tickets or sign-up for the Des Moines Performing Arts e-newsletter. Des Moines Performing Arts also tracks customer response to Civic Center emails - specifically if the email was opened and if a purchase decision was made - to evaluate the effectiveness of these promotions. Des Moines Performing Arts may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Des Moines Performing Arts’ rights or property or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. Des Moines Performing Arts may disclose user information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
V. Information Specific to Des Moines Performing Arts Members and Donors
We adhere to the Donor Bill of Rights policy developed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the American Association of Fund-Raising Counsel, and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.
Des Moines Performing Arts is grateful for the support of many individuals, organizations and businesses. Names of donors who provide $500.00 or more in annual membership donations may be published with specific amount ranges in the Centerstage Program, on the website www.desmoinesperformingarts.org or in other Des Moines Performing Arts publications. Des Moines Performing Arts may also publish the names of donors to specific campaigns or fundraising initiatives. The same information may be released to the media or other individuals upon written request to Des Moines Performing Arts’ President. If a donor wishes their name to not be listed, they may email the Development office, development@desmoinesperformingarts.org.
